To simply write a song is very hard. To write a song that you will come back to and be happy with is a normal desire, though many times you may be found in discontent. It could be compared to an author who has worked on a book for 6 months, and throws it all away because after all that time, he or she has come to find their work to be much different then they had first intended.
When starting out, there is a vision. A note played, or a lingering melody that has motivated you to continue. To come to the end of a song and find that you strayed away from the vision at the beginning can be very frustrating. It sounds totally different, and even though you have a complete song from beginning to end, the melody that once was, that vision that got you going, is missing.
It’s difficult to get from point A to point Z.
I am always at a lost for words and melody if I am not writing it about the relationship I am in. It may sound good, but not what I would have first hoped for. I am talking about the Grace and Mercy, Compassion and Justice, Love and peace that I receieve through my relationship with my creator, my savior, my father, my healer, my friend the Holy Spirit. The simplest songs of God hold the deepest convictions.
“A People without vision will perish.”
I can look at my life and try with all my might to write something of worth, of value and of power. Something that is simply difficult to obtain. Or I can let God guide me. His vision NEVER dies, and in His steps my path is always brought into fruition.
It will be deep, it will be fun, it will be worth all the time.
When he sings through me, I hear a million songs. I choose to take my own burden and give it to Him. He gives me His, and it is not heavy at all.
His song… It’s a simple song.
